What is the "aguardiente brandy" in this Bali Hai recipe?

I found this recipe online and actually had a bartender make it for me today with delicious results...only problem is, I didn't think to ask what brands exactly they used to make it.

Now looking for aguardiente online, I'm finding one liquor that's anise flavor from Colombia and one from Portugal that is actually more of a real brandy. I don't recall tasting any anise flavor or brandy flavor in the drink. The color was seemingly totally determined by the grenadine, which leads me to believe it was the Colombian one, but anise is a thing you'd notice...Are there clear brandys out there?

I will try to post a photo if I can figure out how.

Anyway, here is the recipe. If you can recommend a brand for the ingredient, preferably something they sell ar BevMo, that would be so helpful.

Bali Hai

2 oz light rum

1 oz aguardiente brandy

2 oz fresh lime juice

2 oz fresh lemon juice

1 tsp orgeat syrup

1 tsp grenadine syrup

fill with Champagne

Shake ingredients (except champagne) with cracked ice and pour into a collins glass. Fill with champagne.
