What is the "aguardiente brandy" in this Bali Hai recipe?

I found this recipe online and actually had a bartender make it for me today with delicious results...only problem is, I didn't think to ask what brands exactly they used to make it. Now looking for aguardiente online, I'm finding one liquor that's anise flavor from Colombia and one from Portugal that is actually more of a real brandy. I don't recall tasting any anise flavor or brandy flavor in the drink. The color was seemingly totally determined by the grenadine, which leads me to believe it was the Colombian one, but anise is a thing you'd notice...Are there clear brandys out there? I will try to post a photo if I can figure out how. Anyway, here is the recipe. If you can recommend a brand for the ingredient, preferably something they sell ar BevMo, that would be so helpful. Bali Hai 2 oz light rum 1 oz aguardiente brandy 2 oz fresh lime juice 2 oz fresh lemon juice 1 tsp orgeat syrup 1 tsp grenadine syrup fill with Champagne Shake ingredients (excep

Let's tall about infused liquors

I've seen so many great recipes here that call for an infused liquor of some sort or the other. And while the premise of infusing liquors is simple (add the ingredients to a bottle and let them sit for x hours), the meticulous micro-manager in me is left with so many questions. So, passionate cocktail makers and expert drinkers of reddit, here are my questions: How long does infused liquor last? Do infused spirits need to be kept refrigerated? Do I need to strain the ingredients before storing? Is there a difference between infusing with shelf-stable ingredients (such as spices, dried chilis, etc.) versus perishables like fruits? What's your favorite or must-have infused liquors for your home bar? submitted by /u/GrindinMolcajete [link] [comments]

California Spaghetti Salad

Image
California Spaghetti Salad is a delicious pasta salad filled with fresh veggies and covered in a zesty Italian dressing.  With all those flavors and colors making one beautiful and tasty side dish, there is no doubt this will be the hit of your next gathering! I love delicious, cool salads in Spring and Summer like Creamy Pea , Cauliflower Broccoli , and Cucumber Tomato Salad . Enjoy your salad at your next BBQ! Easy California Spaghetti Salad As the weather begins to change and warm up in the Spring, I find myself looking for recipes with a fresher and lighter feel.  I especially love quick and easy cold pasta salads! This one only took 15 minutes to make and it was amazing!  It is vegan-friendly so it is great to bring to a potluck!  It is also super versatile! Have fun choosing colorful, fresh fruits and veggies you love to add in! I sometimes swap out the olives for sun-dried tomatoes and I love it that way too! You really can’t go wrong with this salad! It is great to make

The Aperitivo Workshop

My favourite thing about Aperitivo cocktails is that you can make so many with similar ingredients. I made a wee video showing just that.
