Looking to Build a Solid Home Bar Over the Next Year

I no longer live with an alcoholic/thief roommate so I am looking to really build a nice basic bar setup, by purchasing one liquor a month for the next year. I found an article that suggested the following twelve, and was hoping for some feedback if these are a good baseline and maybe suggestions for what brand to get of each one. The only thing I know a little bit about what I love is Bourbon/Rye (Bulleitt Brand) Thank you in advance.
